I could not help but disagree too much with some of the past commentaries that have been posted here (i.e., ‘women bitching’, ‘women crying’).

The concept that womankind will do whatever it takes to get ahead without caring who is insulted or destroyed is quite a long stretch, if what you base this opinion on is from your memory (and a human memory is selective) that sometimes, some women are dependent on their male counterparts, and are often depicted that way. Personally, I have heard “Dude, do that for me?” or “Man, help me out on this?” about as often as I have heard “Oh honey, can you please do this?” or “Sweetie, can you do that?” but, in the movies and on the TV, I have heard the latter two much more often, and with much more innuendo.

But the media isn’t really to blame, it’s more the basic narrowmindedness that has persisted throughout the ages. Back in the olden days, at about the time of “the invention of bitching,” there were also laws (laws that were drafted by males) that did not allow women to vote or to work. With these laws, women’s dependency on man had become forced into the ideals of the nation, and then eventually recognized as a tradition. Women were practically reduced to property, a way for fathers to cash in on dowries, and for suitors to get some ass and some housework done. Thus, with the invention of the conception that women were an inferior gender, the invention of “bitching” seems more than all too natural.

As for the issue that women star in porn films and that men stay behind the cameras, consider who’s watching and buying the porn – and who’s directing it, and who’s producing it, and who’s responsible for it all. It’s not the women. The directed roles that women play in a porno lack decency; but that is something different from women themselves lacking decency. So blame not the women for their on-screen indecency, but your own fantasies that are responsible for the entire porn industry.

Furthermore, in a nation with deep roots of chauvinism, women are still denied equal oppurtunity in the work market. Because of the preconceptions of the past, it is generally expected that the man of the family be the bread-winner, and that the man of the family be paid more than the women of the family. Because of the implication that women are still dependent on men, independent women are put at a disadvantage because they are given the same opportunities as the women that are dependent. With all this in mind, consider why a young independent woman might have sex for a much higher salary than she would ever get by applying what she learned in college.

That’s not all I have to say, but that’s all I will say. See ya and goodnight.

  • werd chunger, that was really well put.

    Another analogy surrounds the question:

why God is always portrayed as male?

Well the reality is that men wrote the bible. It’s as simple as that.
